Srinagar, Jan 9: An Army soldier posted in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir lost his life after slipping and falling while heading out for night patrol duty, officials said on Friday.
The deceased, a resident of Haryana, was serving with the Army’s 46 Rashtriya Rifles and was stationed at the Fatehgarh Sheeri camp. Officials said the soldier lost consciousness following the fall and was rushed to Government Medical College (GMC) Baramulla for treatment.
However, doctors at the hospital declared him dead on arrival. Authorities have initiated medico-legal formalities to ascertain further details, officials added. (Agencies)
