Spotted over Samba, Rajouri, Poonch of Jammu Region
Jammu Tawi, Dec 3: Additional Director General of Police for Jammu zone, Mukesh Singh Friday said that a starlink satellite train was seen over sky in areas of Jammu which people mistook as mysterious light of an aerial object and there was no need to panic.
Panic triggered the bordering hamlets of Jammu region on Friday evening, when locals witnessed a long trail of suspected flying objects with blinking lights along the Line of Control in Rajouri and Poonch districts and also on the International Border in Samba district of the winter capital, Jammu Region of the UT of Jammu and Kashmir.
ADG of Police, Mukesh Singh informed that starlink train of satellites have been seen in sky in areas of Rajouri and Poonch.
“The mysterious light are of satellite of starlink train category, “said ADG Singh said.
Pertinent to mention here that Elon Musk starlink satellite train is a category of satellite which are often seen in the sky.
Earlier, Police sources said here that locals witnessed a long-trail of flying objects close to the International Border in Ramgarh sector of Samba district this evening.
The locals informed the police, following which a team of police and the Border Security Force was on alert, they said.
“The blinking light was seen moving from Ghagwal belt towards Ramgarh and was also captured in cell phones by the locals. Alert has been sounded and the matter is being verified,” sources added.
At the same time, sources said that a long-trail of blinking light was also seen in parts of Rajouri and Poonch districts, spreading panic among the local populace.
“Such kind of flying object has been seen here for the first time,” they said.
