Intn’l Film Festival of Srinagar from Oct 25


Srinagar, Oct 23: The city is all set to host the second edition of The Film Festival of Srinagar (TIFFS) at Tagore Hall on October 25, Wednesday.
Rohith Bhat, Festival Director said “This year, TIFFS promises a grandeur unlike before. Over 200 films from 37 countries were submitted, culminating in a selection of 17 outstanding films for our two-day screening.”
In a special tribute to the legendary actor Dev Anand on his 100th birth anniversary, the festival director said they have decided the celebrate cinematic marvels. Renowned director Babbar Subhash, acclaimed for classics like “Disco Dancer” will grace the occasion. The festival boasts a star-studded guest list, featuring luminaries from Bollywood and various states.
“Overall, this event is anticipated to be a great success, showcasing Kashmiri culture, including traditional arts like embroidery, paper maché, and more. It is expected that the crowd will be significant and some local filmmakers are also participating,” he said.
The opening ceremony will be held by the Deputy Commissioner of Srinagar Aijaz Asad while the Lieutenant Governor of and , Manoj Sinha will conduct the closing ceremony of the festival, he added.
