Inter-school Athletics meet begins at Ghagwal

, Sept 01: Annual inter-school Athletics (boys and girls) meet of Zone Ghagwal, organised by the Department of Youth Services and (DYSS), started today at Government High School Jatwal in district Kathua. The competition is being organised under the overall supervision of Vikas Malgotra, ZPEO Ghagwal on the direction of Director (DYSS), Subash Chander Chibber.

Sunina Saini, SDM Ghagwal was chief guest in the opening. She was accompanied by Headmaster of the host school, Dhruv Singh, who presented a brief note of the event. The chief guest also advised the participating athletes to devote quality time on training so as to achieve the desired results in the field of sports. In total, 78 athletes boys) drawn from 11 institutions of Zone Ghagwal participated in field and track events on opening day.

The Results (winners): Under-14: 100 mts: Karan Sharma, High School Naran. 200 mts: Niral Patel, Middle School Ghagwal. 400 mts. Shantu Sharma, VVM School, Ghagwal. Under-17: 100 mts: Shivam Sharma, GHSS Rajpura. 200 mts:  Sunil Singh, HS Sanoora. 400 mts:  Varun Singh, HSS Ghagwal. 800mts:   Priyashu Verma, HSS Ghagwal. 1500 mts: Gulshan Sharma, HSS Ghagwal. 3000 mts:  Yogesh Sharma, VVM Ghagwal. Under-19: 100 mts: Vansh Kumar, HSS Rajpura.
