    Indian contingent gears up for Paris Paralympics 2024 Athletics events

    The Indian Paralympic contingent will be looking to build on their successful outing in the previous edition at Tokyo as they get set for the athletics events kicking off from August 30th at Paris 2024. will be fielding a record high 38 athletes across various athletics disciplines over the 11 day competition period.

    The schedule sees the action beginning with the Women's Discus Throw F55 event on August 30th where Karam Jyoti and Sakshi Kasana will be in action. Preethi Pal will then take the track in the Women's 100m T35 heats on the same day. Sumit Antil will be the star attraction in the Men's Javelin Throw F64 finals slated for September 2nd.

    Some other key events to watch out for include Yogesh Kathuniya competing in the Men's Discus Throw F56 final on September 2nd. Mariyappan Thangavelu, Sharad Kumar and Shailesh Kumar will be the top Indian hopes in the Men's High Jump T63 final scheduled for September 3rd. Simran has a busy week lining up for the Women's 100m and 200m T12 finals on September 5th and 7th respectively.

    With a haul of 19 medals in Tokyo, the Paris edition provides India with a great platform to better their performance on the stage. The high participation count underlines India's growing focus and commitment towards Paralympic Sport. The 11 day competition period will be a test of Indian athletes' abilities as they seek glory on the world's biggest sporting platform.
