Jammu, Sept 13: The United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), two months ago had requested the agreement of Governments in India and Pakistan to invite teams from their office to visit both sides of the line of control (LoC).
The UNHRC said now that they had received reports that Indian authorities had used force excessively against the civilian population under its administration.
The UNHRC also claimed that they had received ‘conflicting narratives' from the two sides as to the cause of the confrontations and reported large number of people killed and wounded.
The UNHRC has suggested an independent, impartial and international mission was now needed crucially and that it should be given free access to establish an objective assessment of the claims made by the two sides.
They further said that Pakistan had already invited an OHCHR team to the Pakistani side of Line of Control but the same had not been sent by India so far.
The UNHRC have requested publicly to both the nations of unconditional access to both sides of line of control.
