IELTS racket busted, 4 held

Amritsar, September 3: On the trail of notorious gangster Manga, the Special Task Force (STF) today stumbled upon an IELTS ( English Language Testing System) racket, arresting four persons for allegedly providing answer keys to candidates for Rs 30,000-Rs 40,000 each. The police received information that Manga had checked into a local hotel. But before the raiding party could reach there, he had slipped away. However, his four accomplices — Navi, Judgebir Singh, Sandeep Singh and Simar Singh — were arrested.

On questioning, it was found that Manga ran an IELTS racket. He reportedly worked for the Davinder Bambiha gang that was recently involved in a gang war in Tarn Taran. The police are looking for Manga's fifth accomplice, Gurinder Singh.  The accused have revealed the names of 12 students so far. Cambridge University had received numerous complaints regarding the fairness of the exam, said sources.
