As Inspector General (IG), BSF Kashmir Frontier, Ashok Yadav has revealed that terrorists were waiting at the launch pads across the Line of Control to infiltrate into the Kashmir valley, it becomes necessary for India to mull on all options to counter this threat like it did in the past in the shape of surgical strikes and the Balakot air strike as the conditions this time also seem to be akin. Albeit, the IG BSF Kashmir Frontier has assured that the security forces were alert and prepared to foil any such attempts but isn’t it imperative for the country to go for another offensive to neutralize the threat well inside the rogue country’s boundaries instead of preferring defensive manoeuvring and waiting for the adversaries to cross over to this side and inflict harm before getting a befitting response from Indian side.
It is pertinent to mention that increased attempts to infiltrate terrorists into the valley always remain before the onset of winter and this is the time when the probability of adversary giving shape to its nefarious designs is high. It is good that the BSF has the precise knowledge about the presence of the terrorists across the LOC as the aforementioned officer has affirmed about their presence on the launch pads across the LoC, opposite to Bandipora and Kupwara sectors, making it necessary to discuss the issue at the highest level so that a strategy should be chalked out to counter the threat before it becomes too late like the cases in the past wherein terrorists from across the border had infiltrated and caused ‘devastation’ in Jammu and Kashmir.
Reportedly, army and the BSF were alert and dominating the LoC very well with the help of the hi-tech surveillance equipment but it is advisable to explore all options to counter this threat and go for another surgical strike or air strike, especially when the information about active launch pads of terrorists is confirmed with strong evidence as suggested by the statement given by the IG BSF Kashmir Frontier. It is time that the helmsmen should ponder on the pros and cons of any action taken by the security forces in the matter but one thing should be ensured that under no circumstances Pakistan should be allowed to disrupt peace in India.
