HC orders implemented: PHQ clarifies

Tawi, January 24: A police spokesman today clarified the ousting of 231 candidates selected earlier, as Constables (Operators) in JKP saying that recruitment of these constables was made in terms of PHQ advertisement issued in 2007, which was challenged before the High Court and finally disposed off vide Order dated 9-5-2014 by the virtue of which selection list was quashed with further directions to State respondents to reframe the selection list.

In the review petition, the Court reiterated its directions for re-drawl of merit list. As many as, eight contempt petitions were also filed before the High Court against State respondents for non-compliance of judgement.

The spokesman further clarifies that PHQ in terms of Court orders reframed the merit list and 231 candidates selected earlier came to be ousted as necessary corollary of the reframing of selection list. The ousted candidates had also been arraigned as private respondents by the petitioners in the writ petitions but they neither bothered to apprise the High Court of their case during pendency of the writ petitions since 2010, nor did they challenge the orders of Court. The exercise of reframing merit list writ was strict compliance of Court orders in writ petition No:1352 of 2010.
