Fighting anger with employment package in restive Kashmir

,August 10 (KIP):- Even while being unimpressed by Prime
Minister,Narendra Modi's latest message to Kashmiri youth that stones
and guns be replaced by laptops the Government of has prepared a
plan for providing employment package to several thousand youth.

Under the plan the paramilitary forces have been asked to hold
recruitment rallies in various parts of where the able bodied
youth are enrolled as constables. In addition to this those not
covered under the recruitment rallies would be appointed as SPOs for
which the union Home Ministry is willing to provide financial
assistance..The Centre may also fund the plan for raising seven to 10
additional companies of police which would provide to about
10,000 educated unemployed youth..

Even the Army and the Railways are being suggested to reserve
jobs for youth in Kahsmir in their organizations. Chief
Minister,Mehbooba Mufti has, during her discussion with the central
leaders, including Modi, has conveyed to them that since the  majority
of youth are unemployed and these very boys are lured by militant
outfits. These unemployed boys are paid money for indulging in stone
pelting, opening fire on security personnel and hurling bombs and

Mehbooba has conveyed to the central leaders if the problem
of unemployment was resolved it would  provide gainful employment to
the boys in Kashmir who will get no time in indulging in acts of
violence. The Union Government has accepted Mehbooba's suggestion and
in addition to this the PDP wants Modi to fulfill his commitment on
granting liberal financial assistance to the state of Jammu and

In the meantime the state unit of the BJP too has asked the
centre to hold special recruitment drives for the youth in Jammu
region too.

In fact the people in Kashmir including the separatists do
not seem to be highly impressed by Modi's speech as average Kashmiris
want financial package and not sermons.(KIP)
