Jammu Tawi, Dec 9: Sunil Dimple, President Mission Statehood, led a protest rally in Jammu on Monday burning effigies of industrialist Gautam Adani in response to corruption charges and allegations of bribery involving the Jammu and Kashmir government. The rally, supported by large number of traders, took place from Amphalla to Janipur High Court Chowk, with participants expressing their outrage over the accusations.

Dimple demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi to order a National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into the bribery charges involving Adani, particularly regarding his alleged involvement in solar lighting, recharge, and prepaid meter projects in Jammu and Kashmir.

Speaking to the media, Dimple accused the government of neglecting pressing public issues such as unemployment, rising prices, and poverty, while failing to take action on the Adani bribery scandal. He also called on the Prime Minister to restore Jammu and Kashmir’s special status, including Articles 370 and 35-A, and to announce measures like free electricity (200 units), double ration, and 12 free LPG cylinders for the region’s residents. Further, Dimple called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to initiate inquiries by the CBI, NIA, and Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) to uncover who received bribes in Jammu and Kashmir. He also demanded immediate measures like the restoration of the Darbar Move, free electricity, and LPG cylinders for all residents.
