CS stresses time-bound, quality disposal of public grievances

Says JK Samadhan 2.0 empowering citizens, strengthening governance

JAMMU: Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo chaired a review meeting on the functioning of the JK Samadhan 2.0 portal, evaluating the pace, quality, and effectiveness of grievance redressal by departments and district administrations.

He emphasized that timely and satisfactory resolution of public grievances is crucial for strengthening public trust in governance. “Grievances are a diagnostic tool to assess the health of governance,” he stated, urging officials to use the platform for improving service delivery and institutional responsiveness.

Dulloo directed that no grievance should remain unresolved beyond 30 days and called for regular reviews by departments and Deputy Commissioners. He stressed the importance of public satisfaction in grievance resolution and accountability in case of delays.

To enhance public participation, he instructed the Grievances Department to increase awareness about JK Samadhan 2.0 through outreach programs and SMS campaigns. He also participated in a live demo of the portal and appreciated recent improvements.

The Chief Secretary suggested integrating features like heat maps and Artificial Intelligence for better data analysis and grievance classification. He emphasized focused efforts in under-covered districts and advocated intensified IEC campaigns.

Public Grievances Secretary Aijaz Asad highlighted a surge in citizen registrations—from 12,932 on January 4 to over 13 lakh by April 30, 2025. Notably, 9.46 lakh registrations occurred in the last two months alone.

As of April-end, 53,342 grievances had been registered, with 75% already resolved. The platform is now targeting at least one registration per household to ensure timely administrative assistance.

JK Samadhan 2.0 has emerged as a responsive and data-driven platform, reinforcing citizen trust and improving governance across the Union Territory.
