Congress will emerge stronger, defections to have little impact: Mir

    Date:

Verinag (Anantnag) Aug 31: Congress will emerge stronger in coming days and defections will have little impact as carder on the ground is working hard to strengthen the Party for the betterment of the people, former J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President Ghulam Ahmad Mir said on Wednesday.

Addressing a workers meeting at Omoh Verinag in South , Mir said Congress party is like a sea the defections in the party will have a little impact over it, every party worker will give his best to make it (Congress) stronger and defeat the conspiracies resolutely.

Mir said the dedicated and loyal workers will continue to remain with the Congress Party and strengthen it for the betterment of the people.

Referring to the current political situation in J&K, Mir said Congress cadre won't be cowed down by the challenges; they will keep their spirits high and move on.

Former JKPCC president urged the party workers across J&K to rise to occasion to overcome the current challenges and perform their role of dedicated and loyal Congress workers.

“Those who have enjoyed power and important positions since decades are leaving Congress simply because the party is in opposition, their defections are reflective of their character and dishonesty, the people of J&K must know that they are after power and protocols how can they serve them because the power and positions mean everything to them,” Mir added and sought people support to strengthen the Congress party, which is a secular and will never compromise with the divisive forces like those who are defecting Congress to strengthen the agenda of BJP.
