    Christmas celebrated in Jammu with religious fervour and joy

    Jammu Tawi, Dec 25:  The local Christian community of Jammu celebrated Christmas with immense religious fervour and joy on Wednesday.
    The largest congregation in the Jammu took place at the St Catholic Church Gandhi Nagar in the heart of city, where a large number of Christians, including women and children, attended the mass prayers on the occasion. A large number of people from other communities also joined and participated the Christmas festivities with enthusiasm among the children.

    The church was adorned with colorful buntings, balloons, and vibrant lights, creating a festive atmosphere. A replica of the birthplace of Jesus Christ was also set up in the church garden where devotees lit candles to pay homage.

    A mass prayer was also held in the church till midnight last night during which a good number of devotees and others participated.

    Reports of Christmas celebrations were also received from various parts of the Jammu including Residency road and Ustad Mohallah. Reports of Chrismas celebrating have also poured in from Kathua, Udhampur, Samba, RS Pura, Vijaypur and other towns.
    Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and several leaders extended the Christmas greetings.
