Centre plans to safeguard schools and check ceasefire violations

Date:

Tawi, October 31 (KIP): The Ministry of and the Union Home Ministry are said to be giving final touches to a plan to silence the Pak gunners who have been resorting to unprovoked ceasefire violations in which several security personnel were killed and injured during the last 20 days.

In addition to this the two ministries are working on a plan to check gutting of school buildings. Well torching school buildings and bridges have not been a new phenomenon and such activities were witnessed during 1988-1990, Later he Government had spent several
hundred crores of rupees for rebuilding the damaged schools and bridges.

The plan behind repeated ceasefire violations was to push groups of militants into Jammu and for raising the level of violence. And the purpose of torching the school buildings was to make it difficult for the youth to attend the schools so that they could be used a fodder during the clashes between the security forces and the protesters.

Since the has been the main victim in Kashmir during the violence that hit Kashmir during the last over 110 days the Union Home Ministry is preparing a plan to post security personnel at the entrance of each school.
Since the state is already feeling the pinch of paucity of security forces the state Government has suggested to the Union Home Ministry either to allow the state to raise 10 additional companies of police for ensuring safety of schools or till these companies were trained  sanction 10 additional companies of paramilitary forces for the school duty.

Once militants keep on burning schools buildings, so far 25 such buildings have been torched; it would affect the education system.

The Defence Ministry is planning to deploy additional companies of troops on the LOC to check Pak ceasefire violations and retaliate with force and fury each violation. And if this project is okayed the IB too will have deployment of additional companies of BSF (KIP)
