    Army jawans a day after the Uri terror attack, the Centre is collecting enough proof to expose Pakistan's role in the Uri attack before the SAARC summit to be held in Islamabad. It has been learnt that Investigating Agency along with Military Intelligence will work jointly on collecting proof to prove that the Uri terror attack was engineered by JeM and planned by Pakistan.

    A high-review meet, called by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, is presently underway as on September 19. Union Minister Manohar Parikkar, NSA, IB Director, RAW Chief, Home and Defence Secretaries, Director Generals of BSF and CRPF will be present during the meet.

    Media reports suggest Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not likely to attend the SAARC Summit in Islamabad on November 9 and 10.

    Director General of Military Operations Ranbir Singh said, “Initial reports indicate the role of Jaish-e-Mohammed. We found Pakistani markings on the items from the killed terrorists. I apprised the DGMO Pakistan about the incident and conveyed 's sentiments over the issue.”

    In a strong rebuttal, Pakistan has denied playing any role in Uri terrorist attack on September 18. In a reaction to the terror attack on the HQ of Brigade 12 in Uri, India's civil and military leaders blamed Pakistan with the media calling for a stronger response.

    It may be noted as many as 17 soldiers were killed and 20 others injured in one of the worst terrorist attacks to take place in Uri sector in Jammu and Kashmir. Four terrorists had entered an army camp in Uri town, which is near the Line of Control, on early September 18 and killed 17 soldiers and injured 20 others. The terrorists were finally killed after a heavy gun battle with the jawans. Lobbing grenades, the terrorists, who entered the army camp from the rear after cutting the barbed wire fencing, caught the jawans, who were fast asleep, unawares.

    Union Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi On September 19 visited Srinagar to review the situation in Jammu and Kashmir in the wake of the Uri terror attack. He will take stock of the situation after conferring with state government officials, army, police and paramilitary forces.

    Meanwhile, the army wants the government to decide on cross-border strikes along the LoC so as to get back at Pakistan in a bid warn Pakistan against supporting terrorist strikes. An alert has been sounded in all army battalions along the LoC and IAF airbases on the western front to take care of any emergency.
