C-Virus cases mount to 300 as 22 more test positive in J&K

Tawi, Apr 15:Jammu and Union Territory on Wednesday reported 22 new cases of Covid-19 taking toll of total number of positive cases to 300.
“Among today's positive cases, four are from Jammu division while as 18 are from Kashmir division,” the Govt. spokesperson shared the information on his Twitter handle today. Among 18 cases of valley, 15 were confirmed from SKIMS Laboratory while as three were tested positive at Chest Disease Hospital Laboratory.

Officials added that among today's 18 cases from Kashmir eight are from Ganderbal, two from Kupwara, three from Srinagar and five from Bandipora and Baramulla districts.
Officials from Ganderbal confirmed that 8 new cases from Ganderbal. The total number of COVID-19 patients in Ganderbal is now 13. “2 more positives from Red Zone Anderhama Kupwara, both contacts of earlier positive patient. Both are asymptomatic and are doing fine. Primary contacts being traced for quarantine and sampling,” said officials from Kupwara, adding that no more positives cases were reported from any of the other Red Zones of the district.
As per officials figures, 76 positive cases including one death and eleven recoveries are from Srinagar, 56 including ten recoveries and one death are from Bandipora, 42 including one death are from Baramulla, 11 from Budgam, 3 from Pulwama including one recovery, 14 from Shopian including two recoveries, 25 from Kupwara, 13 from Ganderbal, 4 from Kulgam and 2 from Anantnag in Kashmir division.
In Jammu division, 26 including three recoveries are from Jammu district , 20 including one death and four recoveries are from Udhampur, 4 from Samba and 3 from Rajouri including one recovery and one from Kishtiwar who has also recovered.
As per the daily information bulletin 56, 595 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while as 7,784 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 260 persons are in hospital isolation while as 270 persons are under hospital quarantine.
According to the bulletin, 18,049 persons have completed surveillance period and 30,228 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 5,171 samples are available. Out of 5,171 the number of samples tested negative stands at 4871 while as 300 have been tested positive, among them 269 are active and 36 persons have recovered and 4 have died.
