Burglars have a field day in High Security Zone of

Jammu Tawi, Jan 31: The Circular Road in winter capital Jammu, which is a high security zone housing the palatial mansion of Chief Minister of the State is facing an increase in the number of car-bike lifting/snatching incidents as dozens of people have been deprived of their four- and two wheelers during the first four weeks of the current month.

Many victims have questioned the role of the Police and other agencies and called the investigation system flawed. Locals told that in broad day light anti-social elements lift the vehicles while some of them manage deflate the tyres and take them along. “Two days before I parked by motot-cycle (JK02AD-8732) in the area. Within five minutes, the motorcycle disappeared. I am not the only victim, but there are scores of such victims who are waiting for the arrest of the culprits,” said a local.

“It speaks volumes that your property is not safe even in high security zone,” the locals said and claimed that crime rate across Jammu has increased considerably. They alleged that the inaction from Police have encouraged the burglars.

A police official said that they have already taken the cognizance of such incidents and efforts are on to retrieve the stolen property and arrest the culprits. (CNS)
