Bollywood heartthrob lights up the runway on final day of India Couture Week
Aditya Roy Kapur stunned audiences as he brought the curtain down on the prestigious Hyundai India Couture Week as the showstopper for acclaimed designer Kunal Rawal. Adorned in a striking blue sherwani featuring patola motifs accented with shades of gunmetal from Rawal’s ‘Sehra’ collection, the Talvar star had all eyes captivated with his charisma and screen presence.
Rawal’s collection took inspiration from the ornate headgear traditionally worn by Indian grooms, showcasing luxurious fabrics skillfully blended with tradition. Intricate works like bandhani, brocade and dhup chao threadwork were artistically incorporated alongside modern silhouettes. Each piece was meticulously embellished with intricate needlework interpreting traditional embroidery styles.
Adding another highlight was stylist Anaita Shroff Adajania who wowed onlookers by striding down the runway in a flowy shahara ensemble from the menswear line. With minimal makeup and hair, she proved high fashion need not be limited by gender.
Rawal explained the wedding ceremony was close to his heart, motivating him to pay homage to profound meaning the special day holds for grooms. Through meticulous designs aimed at enhancing while preserving cultural riches, the collection transported viewers to the celebratory essence of Indian nuptials.
