SRINAGAR: The Branch has initiated a probe into the alleged scam by a ‘dubious' recruitment company ‘Vista Group'.

After it was reported that operations of the Vista Group seems dubious as it had allegedly duped job aspirants after published advertisements in newspapers, the government sealed its office at Wazir Bagh on November 2 and its bank accounts were also seized.

To proceed further investigation into the case, the government had asked people to come up with complaints if any against the group.

Srinagar Syed Haneef Balkhi, who was also appointed as investigating officer into the case had said that Vista Group had produced a fake registration certificate of their firm.  He had said the accused Burhan Beigh son of Shafaat Beigh who runs the “recruitment agency” was called for questioning, wherein it was proved that the registration certificate which he produced before the authorities and claimed it to have been issued by the Labor department was fake.

Now the case has been referred to the Crime Branch and it too had asked people to come up with complaints if any against the company.

“We are probing the scam. Many politicians and some bureaucrats are under the scanner who may have helped the proprietor of the duping company,” a senior Crime Branch official said.

“No arrests have been made into the case so far. The investigation is at the preliminary stage where the accused has mentioned names of some politicians that they know the group,” the official said.

An employee who had worked with the agency during the recruitment drive, said the company received 40 to 50 thousand applications from the job aspirants in one week for around 600 posts.

“But after government took some strict measures, the company could not succeed in its plan and its office was sealed,” the employee said, wishing anonymity.

On October 26, the Vista Group, claiming to serve 360 businesses worldwide, put out full-page advertisements in local newspapers of , announcing a mega recruitment drive and inviting applications for 631 posts in companies based in Srinagar, Chandigarh, and Gurgaon.

However, the mega show came to an abrupt end with timely intervention by the police and the district administration by sealing its office and froze its bank accounts.
