KABUL: At least 10 people were killed in a gunmen attack in Afghanistan’s northern Baghlan province, the Interior Ministry confirmed on Friday. The assault’s perpetrators remain unidentified at this time.
Since the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan in 2021, the group has pledged to restore security to the war-torn nation. However, violence persists, with many attacks being claimed by the local branch of the militant Daesh group.
In a similar incident in September, a Daesh-claimed attack in central Afghanistan resulted in 14 fatalities and six injuries. The ongoing violence continues to challenge the Taliban’s ability to ensure safety across the country.
