Army rescues woman from drowning in Chenab

Tawi, Jan 19: Two Army men from Akhnoor on Tuesday rescued a woman from drowning in Chenab River, drawing wide appreciation for their bravery.

Officials told that a woman in her mid-20s reportedly fell in river Chenab under mysterious conditions and got unconscious.

“Two Army men present in Akhnoor near river Chenab saw the woman drowning in river and both of them jumped in strong water streams of Chenab river and managed to pull out of the woman,” the officials said, adding that she was provided medical aid.

“Two Army men B Kaniraj and Sunil jumped from Akhnoor Bridge into Chenab river to rescue a drowning unconscious girl and revived her back to life,” Jammu based spokesman, Lieutenant Colonel Devander Anand said.
