Srinagar, Aug 31: The Northern Army Commander Lt Gen DS Hooda on Wednesday called on the Governor NN Vohra during his day-long visit to Kashmir valley and discussed the prevailing situation.
The Governor was apprised of the measures taken by the Army along the LC and hinterland to ensure security as also to restore normalcy, said a spokesman.
Earlier, the Army Commander, accompanied by the Chinar Corps Commander, Lt Gen Satish Dua, also visited Khanabal and Haiderbeg where he interacted with the officers and men and took firsthand account of the ground situation.
“During his interaction, while he stressed on the continued need for positive engagement with the people to alleviate their hardships and help bring back normalcy at the earliest,” said the spokesman.
Hooda also reiterated his appeal to the people to maintain calm and contribute towards restoration of peace in the valley, he added.
