Tawi, 8 April

A female police constable posted at a police station in Jammu South has rendered her Police Post incharge and the concerned SHO helpless and clueless as to how to tackle her of high-handedness and taking law into her hands including an accusation of ‘theft'.

The latest controversy erupted wherein a retired police official from Kathua has been running pillar to post to get possession of a house in Jammu which the lady cop had sold to the former a few months ago. The retired policeman accused her of not handing over possession of her house which she sold to him after a proper sale deed duly registered and after taking full payment.

After receiving the full payment, the female police employee remained reluctant to give the buyer the possession for sometime till the intervention of police. After securing the possession of the house, he locked it and went to Kathua to bring his family.

It is alleged that in the meanwhile, the female employee along with some of her associates trespassed and broke open the house and took away the iron shed, iron ladder, two wash basins, a water motor and four doors that were fixed in the house.

The police post in charge instead of lodging a criminal complaint against the women cop, rather called both the parties to the police chowki for settlement, she however, avoided. After waiting for the lady employee till afternoon, the police post-in-charge reached the disputed house to see the incident site. Eye-witnesses said that while the police post incharge was making enquiries at the spot, the lady cop suddenly reached there and created a scene while hurling aspersions and accusing her own police post-in-charge of suppressing her by taking money from the other party.

It is alleged that the lady cop was not ready to listen to anything her officer said and misbehaved with her officer. A spot witness said that the Police post incharge videographed the episode on his mobile. The matter did not end there, today when the victim's family reached the police station, the police officer listened to the victim's family carefully and got their statement recorded. Apart from this, he also asked the female employee to come to the police station but she did not come yet again.

If sources are to be believed, the information regarding the incident has also reached the senior police officers, who sources said were trying to protect the lady cop to avoid public embarrassment in case a theft case is registered against her.

It is reported that police are not putting pressure on the victim's family that they have to pay Rs10 lakh to the lady cop which she said was pending with the buyer. The buyer refuted the charge saying that all the settled money was paid and proper registry had been done in the court,

The retired police official and his family now plead for fair and impartial action against the lady cop and an FIR against her for trespassing and theft.
