Jammu Tawi, February 10: The election to elect Chairman and Vice-Chairman for District Development Councils Samba and Reasi were held today at respective headquarters.
At Nandini Hills Samba, all 14 members of newly elected DDC unanimously elected Keshav Dutt as Chairperson and Balwan Singh as Vice-Chairman.
Deputy Commissioner, Rohit Khajuria administered the oath of office to the Chairperson and Vice- Chairperson in presence of Senior Superintendent of Police Rakesh Sharma, AC Revenue, Jitender Mishra; Dy. District Election officer, Rajeev Magotra; District Information Ajay Sharma besides other officers.
At Reasi, the members of District Development Council (DDC) Reasi today elected Saraf Singh Nag- the DDC member from Bhomag constituency as Chairperson, while Sajra Qadir DDC member Gulabgarh Constituency was declared elected as Vice Chairperson by District Election Officer Reasi. The election was held by District Election Officer Indu Kanwal Chib.
Among others present were Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Sanjay Badyal, Deputy District Election Officer Zakir Wani, ACD Anirudh Rai, Tehsildar Reasi, Munshi Ram and other Officers/Officials of concerned department were present on the occasion.
