AGARTALA, Jul 20: Tripura Director General of Police (DGP) Anurag Dhankar died by suicide at his office in the state police headquarters on Monday, officials said.
The 1994-batch IPS officer was rushed to the G B Pant Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Following the incident, Chief Minister Manik Saha, Chief Secretary J K Sinha and other senior government officials visited the hospital.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are yet to be officially detailed. (Agencies)
