‘Operation Sheruwali’ Enters 36th Day, Search Continues in Rajouri Forests

Rajouri, Jun 27: Operation Sheruwali entered its 36th day on Saturday, with security forces continuing extensive search operations in the Dorimal forests of the Gambhir Mughlan area in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district.

The large-scale counter-terrorism operation, involving the Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) and other security agencies, has been underway since late May to track down and neutralise suspected armed infiltrators believed to be hiding in the rugged and densely forested terrain.

A massive search and surveillance exercise is continuing, with security personnel maintaining a high level of alertness across the area. Officials said all participating agencies are working in close coordination to achieve the objectives of the operation.

According to officials, security forces continue to dominate the area through sustained searches and surveillance, while additional security measures remain in place to prevent any untoward incident.

The officials said the operation will continue until the entire area is thoroughly sanitised and all operational objectives are achieved. (Agencies)
