Srinagar, May 30: The Pencak Silat Association of Jammu and Kashmir has announced selection trials and screening for the formation of J&K UT teams for the forthcoming 14th Pre-Teen, Sub-Junior, Junior and Senior National Pencak Silat Championships 2026-27, scheduled to be held in Nashik, Maharashtra, and Shillong, Meghalaya.
According to the Association, the selection trials for Singa, Macan, Pre-Teen, Sub-Junior, Junior (Boys and Girls), and Senior (Men and Women) categories will be conducted from June 9 to 10 at the Sher-i-Kashmir Indoor Sports Complex (SKISC), Srinagar. The screening of selected athletes will take place on June 11 at the same venue.
Interested players have been asked to submit their entries by June 5 through email. The Association said participants in the Singa, Macan, Pre-Teen, Sub-Junior and Junior categories must produce a date of birth certificate, a duly attested medical fitness certificate and written consent from parents or guardians at the time of the trials.
Officials clarified that no athlete will be allowed to participate without the required documents and that submission of the medical fitness form is mandatory.
The Association has urged eligible athletes from across Jammu and Kashmir to participate in the trials and seize the opportunity to represent the Union Territory at the national level.
