CIK Raids 8 Locations Across Kashmir in Terror Probe

SRINAGAR, Jun 3: The Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) wing of Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday conducted raids at eight locations across six districts of the Valley in connection with a terror-related case, officials said.

Acting on recent intelligence inputs, technical analysis and sustained investigation, CIK teams carried out searches during the early hours of the day. The raids were conducted at two locations each in Srinagar and Bandipora districts, and one location each in Kupwara, Anantnag, Kulgam and Baramulla districts.

Officials said the case, registered in 2015, is linked to Pakistan-sponsored terrorist organisations, their sleeper-cell networks and activities involving recruitment, radicalisation and facilitation of terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.

According to investigators, the suspects were allegedly in contact with Pakistan-based terrorist handlers through encrypted communication platforms. They are also suspected of spreading extremist propaganda and engaging in radicalisation-related activities.

The searches were part of ongoing efforts to dismantle terror networks and gather evidence in the case, officials added. (Agencies)
