Gonda Minor Harassment Case: FIR Against 18, Four Arrested After Brother Attacked at School

Gonda (UP): Uttar Pradesh Police have registered an FIR against 18 persons—eight named and 10 unidentified—on the complaint of a Gonda resident alleging his minor daughter was harassed by individuals associated with her private school.

According to police and the complaint, the Class IX student was allegedly stalked during her commute and sent objectionable messages on Instagram by Parvez Khan, a relative of the school manager. The messages were later marked “unsent,” but the father alleged the harassment persisted despite objections.

The FIR states that when the girl’s brother visited KGN Public School at Seheriya Churaha under Kaundhiya Bazar police station on Sunday to protest, Salahuddin Hafiz and others present allegedly abused him and chased him with sticks inside the campus.

The complainant also alleged the school was being run without recognition by its manager, Waris Khan, and that a cleric was frequently invited to influence students in religious matters. Police said these allegations regarding the institution are under investigation.

SHO Tej Pratap Singh said a molestation case has been registered under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, along with Sections 11 and 12 of the POCSO Act. Named accused in the FIR include Parvez Khan, Waris Khan, Salahuddin Hafiz, Israil, Zakire, Sajid, Arshad and Imran, besides 10 unidentified persons. He said police reached the school, seized the accused student’s mobile phone and arrested four—Parvez Khan, Waris Khan, Salahuddin Hafiz and Israil—while efforts are underway to trace the remaining accused. Investigation is ongoing.
