Srinagar, Nov 1: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has forecast light rain and snow across parts of Jammu and Kashmir on November 4 and 5, urging farmers to suspend field operations during this period to avoid weather-related losses.
According to the MeT forecast, the weather will remain mainly dry across both Jammu and Kashmir divisions from November 1 to 3. However, a brief spell of rain and light snowfall is expected over higher reaches during the evening and night of November 4, likely continuing until the morning or forenoon of November 5.
The department has also cautioned that some areas may experience thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds on November 4. A noticeable drop in both day and night temperatures is expected from November 5 onwards.
After this brief wet spell, generally dry weather is predicted to return across the Union Territory from November 6 to 13, with no major precipitation likely.
Farmers have been advised to temporarily halt agricultural activities on November 4 and 5 to minimize the risk of damage from the approaching weather disturbance. (Agencies)
