    1,586 Engg posts vacant in R&B

    Srinagar, Oct 27: The Jammu and Kashmir government has revealed that a total of 1,586 engineering posts are lying vacant across the Union Territory in the Public Works (R&B) department, reflecting a major manpower shortfall in the infrastructure sector.

    In a written reply to a question raised by MLA Mir Mohammad Fayaz, the department, said the vacancies include 344 gazetted and 1,242 non-gazetted engineering positions that remain unfilled.

    Meanwhile, it is worth mentioning, the shortage will affected several divisions engaged in large-scale infrastructure works, including road macadamisation, PMGSY projects, and urban development schemes.
