PM Narendra Modi Addresses Rozgar Mela; Emphasizes Youth-Led Nation Building

New Delhi, Oct 24: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi addressed the Rozgar Mela via videoconferencing on Friday, describing the new appointments as not just government jobs but as opportunities to actively contribute to nation-building. Extending greetings to over 51,000 newly appointed youth and their families, the Prime Minister said that this Diwali has brought double the happiness—celebration and employment.

“When youth succeed, the nation succeeds,” the Prime Minister remarked, expressing confidence that the appointees’ integrity and dedication will help build better systems for India’s future. He urged them to uphold the spirit of ‘Nagarik Devo Bhava’ and serve with commitment and humility.

Highlighting the government’s consistent focus on youth empowerment, Shri Modi said that Rozgar Melas have become a powerful medium to fulfill the aspirations of young Indians. “Our government has issued over 11 lakh appointment letters through Rozgar Melas alone,” he said. He further informed that the newly launched PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana aims to provide employment to 3.5 crore youth, while the Skill India Mission and National Career Service platform are bridging the gap between talent and opportunity. Over 7 crore job vacancies have been shared with youth through the NCS portal, he added.

Announcing a new initiative, the Prime Minister launched the Pratibha Setu Portal, which offers opportunities to UPSC aspirants who reached the final stage but were not selected. “Their hard work will not go in vain. Both public and private institutions can now engage with these talented individuals, ensuring their abilities are used in the service of the nation,” he said.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the success of the GST Bachat Utsav, which he said has energized demand, production, and employment across the country. He noted that GST reforms, including rate reductions, have boosted purchasing power and economic activity. “When goods become cheaper, demand increases; production grows; and new jobs are created. Thus, the GST Bachat Utsav is transforming into an Employment Festival,” he said. Shri Modi cited record-breaking Diwali sales as evidence of this renewed economic momentum, noting that MSMEs and retail sectors are witnessing growth and job creation in manufacturing, logistics, packaging, and distribution.

Referring to India’s youth as the country’s greatest strength, the Prime Minister said that India’s policies, including foreign policy, are being shaped with young Indians in mind. He mentioned that recent international agreements—including those with the United Kingdom, Brazil, Singapore, Korea, and Canada—focus on areas like AI, fintech, clean energy, and startups, and are expected to create thousands of new opportunities for Indian youth.

Emphasizing the role of newly appointed youth in India’s journey toward development, Shri Modi said, “For the past 11 years, the nation has advanced with the resolve of building a developed India, and the youth are playing the most pivotal role in this journey.” He encouraged all new appointees to join the i-Got Karmayogi Bharat Platform, where 1.5 crore government employees are already learning, to foster a culture of continuous improvement and good governance.

Concluding his address, the Prime Minister said that the efforts of these young karmayogis will shape India’s future and realize the dreams of its citizens. “Young karmayogis will lead the journey towards a developed India,” he said, extending his best wishes to all appointees for their new beginnings.
