Jammu Tawi, Oct 12: In a significant step to strengthen community participation and promote collective responsibility in managing local religious institutions, the Dogra Sabha Committee of Gorkha Nagar, Ward No. 48, Bahu Fort, Jammu, has constituted a new Mandir Committee under the leadership of Kulbir Singh.
The newly formed committee will oversee the temple’s management, coordinate religious and cultural events, and ensure the upkeep and cleanliness of the temple premises. During the announcement, Sabha members reiterated their commitment to transparency, accountability, and devotion in all temple-related affairs.
Senior members of the Mandir Committee — Girdhari Lal Badyal, Kamal Gandotra, Ashok Sharma, Mangal Dass, Ravi Kumar, and Rajkumar Gupta (Tara) — extended their full support to the new body and urged all members to perform their duties with sincerity and dedication.
The volunteers of the Mandir Committee include Honey Badyal, Sanjeev Gandotra, Subhash Chander, Rajkumar Gupta, Ashok Sharma, Dev Raj, Atul Arora, Aman Sharma, Rajan Sharma, Deepak Kumar, Kamal Kumar, Ravi Bhaji, Mangal Dass, Ranjit Bhai, and Sahil Badyal. Their inclusion ensures broad representation across different sections of the community, combining the experience of senior members with the energy of young volunteers — all united by a shared commitment to service.
Speaking on the occasion, Kulbir Singh, the newly appointed head, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Dogra Sabha for its trust and support. He outlined the committee’s vision to transform the temple into not only a place of worship but also a hub for community service, spiritual learning, and cultural preservation.
“Our focus will be on promoting unity, organizing cleanliness drives, and conducting regular religious and social gatherings for the welfare of the community,” he said.
The Sabha members concluded the meeting by thanking all contributors and devotees for their continued support in preserving the temple’s sanctity and heritage. The newly formed committee has already begun planning several initiatives, including infrastructure improvements and community outreach activities.
This initiative marks another milestone in the Dogra Sabha’s ongoing efforts to preserve the region’s cultural heritage and foster harmony among the residents of Gorkha Nagar and adjoining areas.
