Jammu Tawi, Oct 03: In a bid to strengthen its organizational framework and widen community outreach, the Dogra Sabha of Ward No. 48, Gorkha Nagar, convened a special meeting on Friday under the leadership of its President, Kulbir Singh. The meeting, which witnessed the presence of several prominent members of the ward, focused on restructuring the Dogra Sabha Gorkha Nagar (DSGN) Sabha’s working committee to address the growing developmental needs of the locality.
Welcoming the gathering, President Kulbir Singh expressed heartfelt gratitude to all members for responding positively to his call. He noted that it has been six months since he assumed the role of President and underlined the importance of revisiting the committee’s structure to make it more robust and inclusive. One of the key highlights of the meeting was the unanimous decision to appoint Sham Lal Basan, Ex-Cooperator, as Chairman of the Dogra Sabha. Basan, in his address, congratulated the newly elected members and called upon them to work collectively and in harmony. The reconstituted working committee includes:President: Kulbir Singh (Bittu Baba), Sr Vice President: Chand Kumar Gupta, Sr. Vice Presidents: Subash Chander Bhagat, Vice President: Deepak Sharma, Vice President: Subash Chander, General Secretary: Sunny Sangotra, Joint Secretary: Amit Kumar, Secretary: Mukesh Kumar, Organising Secretary: Rakesh Mehra, Cashier: Kamal Gandotra, Publicity Secretary: Ashu Kumar (Accredited Journalist), Store Incharges: Kamal Kumar and Sahil Mehra. The meeting concluded with a collective pledge to intensify developmental initiatives within Ward No. 48. Members resolved to work on improving basic amenities, increasing community participation, and promoting cultural values in line with the vision of the Dogra Sabha.Chairman Basan and President Singh both assured residents that the Sabha’s strengthened committee would act as a bridge between the people and authorities, ensuring that the voice of Gorkha Nagar is heard at every level.
