Those heading the Jammu and Kashmir government should understand the fact that people have elected them to solve the problems and not for accusing those who were in power in the past. The situation in the Union Territory is presently full of negativity with blame-game taking the centre stage and people losing hope that someday they will come out of prevailing morass and mayhem.
Akin to many instances of the past, this time also people had voted the
NC Government to power with a hope that they will get what they deserve but day in day out, those running the affairs of the government come out with new excuses and alibis proving without doubt that they are feckless and have attained the power not for serving the people but to satiate their own interests. Isn’t it intriguing that after months of remaining in power, what the Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education has to offer the people of J&K is the allegation that successive governments especially after 2014 have made deliberate attempts to “weaken” Kashmir’s Horticulture industry? At a time, when the ministers of the NC Government should have toiled day and night to bail out the fruits growers and the traders from the present crisis emerging out of unprecedented climatic conditions and blockade of transportation modes, they are using this crucial time for getting political mileage by accusing their opponents.
The simple question is that why instead of giving solutions, the ministers are preferring to blame others on one count or the other? The answer is simple—they are incompetent and can do nothing except shifting blames. It would have been better to first analyze the things which the government could have done to bail out horticulture stakeholders and then execute things full throttle instead of accusing one party or the other and doing nothing on ground.
As far as help from centre is concerned, the UT government should continue to mount pressure for the same because it is part of its responsibility but sitting like a lame duck and taking no progressive measure for the people, and accusing others for the difficulties of the people is unjustified and unacceptable showing ineptness of the NC ‘brigade’ leading the UT.
