His Brussels lie saying “India forced to beg a ceasefire” has surpassed even his mentor
By Sushil Kutty
Pakistan is on a wing and a prayer, hoping against hope that spilling disinformation and spreading misinformation about India and against India with ‘Field Marshal’ Gen. Asim Munir doing his best to push United States President Donald Trump’s single-point agenda, pocket the Nobel Peace Prize against all odds!
Gen. Munir is here, there and everywhere fielding Trump’s goal and President Trump has been threatening the Norway Nobel Committee to “handover” the Nobel Peace Prize to President Trump or face the toughest set of tariffs imposed on any country on the planet.
This hypothesis is believable. Trump easily fits the role of an avenging angel! And, make no mistake, Trump’s tariffs are unmistakably nasty. Besides, the United States has been known for practicing its “do more” policy on Pakistan for decades, 1a grim reality that, however, did not do wonders for Pakistan. On the contrary, “do more” landed Pakistan in a “hot & sour soup”.
Afghanistan, for instance, where the United States engaged in hostilities for the longest time, the United States played “do more” to the hilt and persuaded Pakistan to play along come rain or shine. But when the Americans left, Pakistan could not and did not “do more” as Afghanistan was by then free of the United States.
Unfortunately, for Pakistan, the same did not apply. Pakistan could not escape America’s “do more” gridlock. And will not till as long as Gen. Asim Munir doesn’t get tired of pleasing President Trump at the drop of a Trump hint.
Gen. Munir is now firmly in Trump’s “do more” net.
A religious teacher’s son, Gen. Munir fits the role of a Trump lackey. The United States’ “do more” strategy has kept President Trump in the reckoning for the Nobel Peace Prize and Gen. Munir is busy travelling the world to “do more” for Trump, who cannot wait for the Nobel to his name. And Gen. Munir is on mission-mode, travelling the world to spread the Trump word.
So far four United States Presidents have won the Nobel and Trump wants to be the fifth. So much so, President Trump believes the Nobel Peace Prize is his birth-right, just like it’s the birth-right of almost all Gandhi family members to potentially become Prime Minister of India.
Also, it did not take genius for Trump to recognize the “will do more” symptoms in Gen. Asim Munir. When the time comes, Gen. Munir will be paid in diamonds. Till then, he is a standing guest of President Trump. So far, after becoming a Trump friend, Gen. Munir has been twice to the United States, the first time for a luncheon with President Donald Trump.
Then, he was in Tampa, Florida the previous week to meet with a group of Pakistani expats. Yesterday (August 18), Gen. Asim Munir was in a place near Brussels in Belgium, to spend time with Non-resident Pakistanis, all in the name of “do more”.
Do more for President Trump, whose gluttony for McDonald’s hamburger is matched only by his yearning for the Nobel Peace Prize. Both, at Tampa and in the place near Brussels, Gen. Asim Munir’s fanbase was allowed into the venue only after they had surrendered their mobile and other electronic devices to the security.
Trump’s “do more” policy when applied to Pakistan and to Gen. Asim Munir comes with the “do more” rider. Gen. Munir makes outrageous statements and fiction dressed up as truth which he doesn’t have to prove because there is no recording of the “do more” lies.
Gen. Munir’s Brussels lies include the one about India “forced to beg for a ceasefire”, which allegedly compelled President Trump to step in to mediate. For a mullah’s son, Munir has no compunctions to lie through his teeth.
The “ceasefire” between India and Pakistan was an “understanding” arrived at after DGMO-level talks. President Trump knows of the elaborate lies and so does Secretary of State Marco Rubio, as also Vice President JD Vance. But President Trump continues to nurse the falsehood that he mediated the “ceasefire” and saved “half the world” from Armageddon. Trump’s version of “do more”, applied to Pakistan, is tantamount to living in the shadow of the United States. (IPA Service)
