    Rajit Gupta tops JEE advanced 2024; Over 54,000 Qualify

    New Delhi, June 2: Rajit Gupta from the IIT Delhi zone secured the top rank in the prestigious JEE Advanced 2024, according to results released on Monday. He scored an impressive 332 out of 360 marks to clinch the top spot in the Common Rank List (CRL).

    The examination, held on May 18, saw participation from 1,80,422 candidates who appeared for both Paper 1 and Paper 2. Of them, 54,378 students qualified for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), officials said.

    Among the qualified candidates, 9,404 are female. Devdutta Majhi from the IIT Kharagpur zone emerged as the top-ranked female candidate, securing CRL 16 with a score of 312 out of 360 marks.

    “The performance this year has been exceptional, with a high cut-off and remarkable scores by the top rankers,” a senior official from the organizing institute noted.

    JEE Advanced is the final gateway for admission to the prestigious IITs and is known for its rigorous testing of students’ analytical and problem-solving skills. Candidates who qualified will now be eligible for seat allocation in IITs through the JoSAA counselling process.

    The results mark the culmination of a highly competitive process, with successful candidates now poised to take the next step toward engineering education at India’s top institutions. (Agencies)
