    Streamlined Registration and Security Measures

This year a Hybrid Model of Pilgrim Registration has been adopted: Online and On-spot.

Pilgrims can register online via registrationandtouristcare.uk.gov.in, while on-spot counters are set up in Haridwar, Rishikesh, and Dehradun’s Vikas Nagar. Environmental Initiatives: Green Chardham Yatra

In a bid to promote environmental conservation, the state has initiated the ‘Green Chardham  Yatra’ campaign. Government has tied up with various agencies to minimize the use of single use  plastic, collection and disposal of plastic.

    Enhanced Healthcare Infrastructure

In a significant move to prioritize pilgrim health, the state has inaugurated new hospitals: a 17-  bed facility in Kedarnath and a 45-bed hospital in Badrinath. Additionally, 25 specialist doctors have been deployed along the yatra routes. The health department has established 20 Medical

Relief Posts and 31 health check-up centers to monitor and assist pilgrims, especially concerning altitude-related health issues.  Additionally, 154 ambulances, including 17 Advanced Life Support units, are operational to

handle any emergencies. Helicopter ambulances, managed by AIIMS Rishikesh, is also available  to provide rapid medical assistance.

    Expectations from Pilgrims

Government of Uttarakhand urges all pilgrims to ensure Yatra Registration before commencing  their journey.  Pilgrims above 50 or with pre-existing health conditions, are also recommended to undergo  medical check-ups before embarking on the yatra. Acclimatization, hydration, and avoiding strenuous activities are emphasized to prevent altitude sickness. Pilgrims are also urged to carry  necessary medications and adhere to safety protocols throughout their journey.

    Helicopter Services for Kedarnath Pilgrims

To further facilitate pilgrims undertaking the Chardham Yatra, the Uttarakhand government is

providing helicopter services to Kedarnath. These services offer a swift and comfortable

alternative to the 16-kilometer trek from Gaurikund, making the sacred temple more accessible,

especially for senior citizens and those with health concerns. The fares are determined by

aviation operators in collaboration with the Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority

    (UCADA).

Pilgrims must first complete mandatory registration on the Uttarakhand Tourism Portal.

Subsequently, tickets can be booked exclusively through the official IRCTC Heli Yatra website

at heliyatra.irctc.co.in. Government of Uttarakhand requests all devotees visiting the holy

shrine of Kedarnath to be aware of fraudulent persons and websites claiming to provide

    confirmed helicopter tickets.

    Beware of False Propaganda

Kurve mentioned that some unscrupulous elements are spreading fake news of the Yatra  being temporarily closed. He warned the pilgrims to be wary of such elements including  websites and social media. He informed that the Yatra and other related services are functioning  smoothly with the Govt. of Uttarakhand taking additional safety measures for the pilgrims. He  also urged the pilgrims to visit www.uttarakhandtourism.gov.in and official Social Media Handles of Uttarakhand Tourism on Instagram, X and Facebook for authentic updates on the Yatra. He also informed that all Registered Pilgrims are being sent regular updates about weather conditions on their registered mobile numbers through WhatsApp. He further extended an invitation to visitors from various parts of the country to enhance their spiritual experience by visiting the holy Chardham in this season and assured of all measures by  the Govt. of Uttarakhand in ensuring a hassle-free yatra.
