JAMMU, Jan 5: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the empanelment of four AGMUT Cadre Indian Police Service (IPS) officers to hold the rank of Inspector General of Police (IGP) at the Centre.
Among the officers empaneled is Amit Kumar, a 2006 batch IPS officer, who previously served in Jammu and Kashmir, holding significant positions during his tenure. He is currently on central deputation.
The other officers empaneled are Pushpendra Kumar, Vikramjit Singh, and Jatin Narwal, all from the 2006 batch. These officers will now be eligible for senior leadership roles in the Indian police services at the national level.
