    Jammu Tawi: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) proudly participated in the two-day Jammu Mahotsav 2024, organized by the Ladakh Jammu Kashmir Economic Growth & Development Dialogue (LEAD) at GGS Science College, Jammu. The university effectively showcased its academic and extracurricular achievements at a dedicated stall, attracting a large number of visitors.

    At the stall, visitors were provided detailed information about SMVDU’s various programs, including undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral offerings, along with insights into admission procedures. Faculty and scholars from the university highlighted its commitment to academic excellence and holistic development through various outreach initiatives.

    One of the key attractions was the university’s community development program, Vikalp, which involves university students teaching underprivileged children. Additionally, the active contributions of SMVDU’s National Service Scheme (NSS) and National Cadet Corps (NCC) were showcased. NSS actively engages in community service through initiatives like cleanliness drives, health camps, and skill development programs. NCC at SMVDU fosters discipline, leadership, and patriotism through drills, camps, and awareness campaigns.

    The stall also highlighted the Technology Business Incubation Center (TBIC), SMVDU’s incubator for fostering innovation and entrepreneurship. The center plays a pivotal role in nurturing start-ups and promoting technological advancements.

    The university was represented by key faculty members, including Prof. Ashutosh Vashishtha, Dean of the Faculty of Management, Dr. Varun Dutta (NCC Coordinator), Dr. Rajiv Kumar (NSS Coordinator), Dr. Pabitra Kumar Jena, Dr. Rajesh Kumar, and Ms. Kirti. The stall was also supported by dedicated PhD scholars, including Ms. Kalpana, Mr. Manish, Ms. Neha Gupta, and Mr. Vikas.

    Prof. Pragati Kumar, Vice Chancellor of SMVDU, commended the efforts of the university team and expressed his best wishes to LEAD and the Jammu Mahotsav organizers for their initiative in promoting regional growth and collaboration.
