Jammu Tawi, Dec 16: The Brahman Sabha, Channi Himmat Branch, a subsidiary of the Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha, held a meeting recently, focusing on the discussion and suggestions for the smooth implementation of Sanskars and Sanskritic programs within the society.
The meeting was initiated by Sunil Sharma, Incharge of the Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha, Channi Himmat Unit, along with notable members including Yash Paul Khajuria, Vice President of Baba Ambo Devsthan, Professor R.D. Sharma (Ex-Vice Chancellor of Jammu University), Dr. Rakesh Kumar Khajuria, Subash Shastri, and other executive body members.
During the event, Yash Paul Khajuria emphasized the need to recognize the Brahmins who have contributed significantly to society and the nation. He underscored that being a Brahmin should not only be by birth but also by deeds, and stressed the importance of promoting Sanatan Sanskriti (traditional culture) so that false propaganda for vote-bank politics could be avoided.
Sunil Sharma, the head of the Channi Himmat Unit, presented a brief report on the work accomplished by the Sabha. He informed attendees that the Sabha is compiling a database of Brahmin families residing in Channi Himmat. Sharma assured that in the future, the Sabha will continue its efforts to uplift society, particularly through moral values and community work.
Sharma also highlighted the launch of the “Sanskar Sinchan Programme,” which includes the recitation of Hanuman Chalisa in temples as a part of promoting cultural and moral values.
Other speakers, including Dewaker Khajuria and Pran Nath, discussed the propagation of moral values among Brahmins, the eradication of substance abuse, and the importance of celebrating events such as Parshuram Jayanti, national days, and other Sanskritic programs. Kewal Krishan Sharma praised the efforts of Sunil Sharma, Convenor of the Channi Himmat Sabha, and the executive body members for their hard work in uniting Brahmins in the area in such a short time.
The proceedings of the meeting were conducted by Shiv Kumar Sharma, and the vote of thanks was given by Pran Nath.
