Srinagar, Dec 11: The Divisional Administration of Kashmir has announced that all necessary arrangements are in place ahead of the harsh 40-day winter period, known as Chillai-Kalan. Despite recent snowfall, most major roads remain open, with only Razdan Pass and Zojilla road currently closed.
Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, V K Bidhuri, informed the media that the region’s power supply would be more reliable than in previous years. He noted that 50 Distribution Transformers (DTs) had been damaged, but repairs were almost complete, with only six remaining unresolved. All receiving stations are operational. In addition to power supply, the administration has ensured sufficient stock of essential supplies like diesel, petrol, and gas for the winter months. The administration continues to monitor road conditions, with Mughal Road and other key routes open for vehicular movement despite the fresh snowfall.
