Comedienne Bharti Singh left baffled after tasting ‘unique’ European cuisine at celebrity chef’s restaurant
In an interesting revelation, popular comedian Bharti Singh recalled being perplexed after renowned filmmaker and chef Farah Khan served her an ‘unusual’ European dish during a get-together at an upscale Bandra eatery in Mumbai.
In a candid chat with husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa on their podcast, Bharti shared how Farah often generous hosts gatherings and introduces her celebrity friends to novel global cuisine. On one such occasion, she was presented with sushi and other ‘interesting’ appetizers that left her stumped.
Describing the experience, Bharti said she was served a dish that resembled “mud” but was actually mushroom. “It looked very strange. When we asked, Farah informed it was ‘European fungus’. I was quite surprised thinking how people could enjoy fungus, which we normally consider unhygienic,” she stated.
Haarsh further added the memorable meal took place at a high-end restaurant in Bandra known for its luxe ambience and experimental menu. “Though the food was an eye-opener, what touched us most was Farah’s warm-hearted nature. Being such a big star, she makes sure to stay connected with old friends,” he pointed out.
The couple also praised Farah for her creative prowess and relentless drive to evolve as an artiste despite her immense success. According to them, her popular YouTube series is a testament to her modern outlook.
While Bharti’s initial reaction to the ‘fungus’ left fans chuckling, her story underscores Farah’s generosity and zest to expose friends to globalflavors beyond typical fare. It offers a peek into the prolific filmmaker’s egalitarian spirit and culinary adventures.
