HP is hoping to drive greater adoption of premium notebooks equipped with advanced artificial intelligence capabilities among businesses in India with the launch of two new Copilot Plus AI PCs. Called the EliteBook Ultra and OmniBook X, the notebooks are powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon processors which allow on-device AI processing for improved productivity and collaboration.
Announcing the launch in New Delhi, HP said the notebooks offer longer battery life and stronger security features for hybrid work thanks to the Arm-based Qualcomm chips under the hood. The EliteBook Ultra starts at Rs. 1,69,934 while the OmniBook X has a starting price of Rs. 1,39,999.
HP is aiming these new AI offerings squarely at the small and medium business segment. An HP executive said there is significant interest from enterprise customers and channel partners are actively engaging SMB clients about the potential of these machines. The notebooks are designed help teams work seamlessly both online and offline with capabilities like digital assistants and tools that can generate various types of content directly on the device.
While Intel dominates the Windows PC market, Qualcomm is making a play for business users with Arm-powered notebooks that offer long battery life. HP believes AI capabilities will become an important driver of PC sales in coming years. It forecasts half the Indian market could consist of AI-optimized machines within two years as prices come down beyond just premium segments.
