Bollywood Actor’s Brother Among 10 Arrested in Major Hyderabad Drug Bust
In a major breakthrough, Hyderabad police have arrested 10 individuals including Bollywood actor Rakul Preet Singh’s brother Aman Preet Singh in a drug trafficking case. According to officials, the Hyderabad Anti-Narcotics Bureau (HANB) conducted a joint raid with local police based on a tip-off about drug peddling activities in the city. During the raid at an apartment in eastern Hyderabad, authorities reportedly seized nearly 200 grams of cocaine worth an estimated 35 lakh rupees.
Five individuals including two foreign nationals have been booked as the alleged drug peddlers responsible for procuring and supplying the contraband. They have been identified as Nigerian nationals Onuoha Blessing and Azeez Noheem Adeshola along with locals Allam Satya Venkata Gowtham, Sanaboina Varun Kumar and Mohd Mahaboob Shareef. Police stated that Onuoha Blessing has been involved in the drug trade for years, obtaining fake identification and traveling between major Indian cities to deliver cocaine shipments.
In addition, officials testified that thirteen individuals linked to the racket had been identified as regular customers of the illegal drugs. Aman Preet Singh, brother of acclaimed Bollywood actress Rakul Preet Singh, was one of the five customers tested positive for cocaine consumption. He and four others – Aniketh Reddy, Prasad, Madhusudhan and Nikhil Daman – were subsequently arrested and sent for medical examination.
Police suspect the kingpin behind the entire operation is another Nigerian national still absconding. A massive manhunt has been launched to apprehend the absconding accused and crack down on the cross-border drug syndicate. The high-profile arrests have sounded alarm across the state over illegal drug consumption and trafficking. The case remains under active investigation with possibility of more arrests.
