    Date:

's momentous T20 Cup triumph over South Africa in Barbados marked the end of Rahul Dravid's illustrious tenure as head coach of the team. While disappointed to not win a global title during his playing days, Dravid ensured he went out on a high by guiding the men in blue to their first ever ICC trophy in the shortest format.

In a heartwarming video shared by the BCCI, we get a glimpse of Dravid's dressing room address to the players after the win. A visibly elated Dravid thanked the team for making his coaching stint one to cherish forever. “I am lost for words to describe how proud I am of each and every one of you,” he said.

The former captain acknowledged the sacrifices made by the players and support staff throughout their cricketing journeys. “Your families have given up so much to get you here today. From your early days learning the sport as kids to the present, you have all overcome numerous hurdles,” remarked Dravid.

He went on to state that while stats and performances will be forgotten with time, memorable moments shared as a team will live on. “You may not recollect your individual career stats down the line. But victories like this that brought the nation together will always be etched in your memories,” Dravid passionately conveyed.

Dravid reserved special praise for captain Rohit Sharma, thanking him for extending his tenure after the 2023 ODI World Cup heartbreak. He called it a “privilege” to have coached the special bunch of cricketers in his inimitable leadership role.

With several veteran players also calling it quits, Indian embarks on a new phase. But Dravid has left an indelible mark, showing the world how true success lies in respecting the team's brotherhood above all else. The sacrifices of the heroes in blue will surely be remembered forever.
