Jammu Migrant employees demand accommodation

Jammu Tawi, Dec 08 : The migrants from Jammu, who were provided government jobs in Kashmir, Wednesday demanded authorities to provide residential accommodation to them, which according to them has been taken away from them after 14 years of their employment.

The employees said, “Government has stopped providing accommodation and our HRA is going to be deducted, which is sheer injustice as we will not be able to bear the day to day expenses at home.”

They further said that if the government will provide accommodation to them then they should transfer them to Jammu. “We have families in Jammu and after being forced to pay rent, it won’t be possible for us to manage,” they said, adding that they have been assured that they will get the accommodation as well as the security, but the administration backtracks from its promise.

“We appeal Lieutenant Governor and all the concerned authorities to look into our grievances and provide accommodation to us or transfer us to Jammu,” they said.
