6 Union Ministers on Outreach campaign in J&K

Tawi/Srinagar, Oct 07: Under the centre's outreach programme six union ministers have been on visit today to various district towns in Union Territory reviewing the development projects and interacting with the Panchayati Raj representatives.

Union Minister of , Forests and Climate Change (MoEF&CC Bhupender Yadav today inaugurated a one day workshop on Forests, Biodiversity and Climate Change-‘Sharing Knowledge and Actions' at SKICC here.

The Minister appreciated the role of Forest and sister Departments and advised them to involve the last person in delivering mechanism so that the participation of the most deprived is ensured for the success of biodiversity conservation. He lauded the efforts of the Forest Department for constituting the Biodiversity Management Committees and linking them with the Village Panchayats.

Union Minister for Minority Affairs, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi during interaction with DDC's, BDC's and other PRI representatives representing many adjacent areas of Doodhpathri in Budgam.

He said that the aim and objective of our visits to UT of J&K was to shorten the gap between public and administration. This is not election season, but we are here and our visits are aimed to give new and revolutionary dimension to the progress and development of the UT. There is no scarcity of funds, committed desire to serve people is need of the hour.

Minister inaugurated T20 Hotel Cum Restaurant constructed at a cost of Rs 5.48 Crore at Doodhpathri. The Hotel has fully comfortable 20 rooms where tourists/guests visiting this place can enjoy their stay. The Minister inspected the facilities available in the T20 Hotel.

Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment, Dr. Virendra Kumar, today, visited district Samba and inaugurated a Rural Haat at Swankha Vijaypur. He also held interaction with delegations besides paying obeisance at Baba Chamliyal Shrine at Zero line border in Ramgarh of District Samba.

Rural Haat has two  phases in which Zone A is presently having kiosk/sheds for displaying rural products, while in proposed Zone B provisions for developing food court, bamboo gateway village , village chaupal, etc and a parking lot has been conceptualized.

Minister later visited the Zero Line of Border tourist place Baba Chamliyal, a revered shrine of Dalip Manhas popularly known as Baba Chamliyal.

During the visit, the Minister interacted with various delegations of local sarpanches, youth organizations, PRIs and Border Welfare Organization besides locals.

Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Consumer Affairs and Food and Public Distribution Smt Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, as a part of public outreach programme to UT of Jammu & Kashmir, concluded today here in Ramban.

On the second day of her tour, the Minister visited Patnitop. She launched Swachhta Abhiyan at the lush green meadows of Patnitop organized by the District Administration Ramban in collaboration with Patnitop Development Authority (PDA).

Earlier, Giving brief account of district profile, the District Development Commissioner Ramban,  Mussarat Islam  informed that after establishment of three-tier PRIs  system,  the PRIs have formulated a development plan of Rs. 46 crore for the financial year 2021-22 under which 2200 development works have been approved.

Union Minister of State for Ports, Shipping, Waterways and Tourism Shripad Yesso Naik arrived at Bhaderwah of district Doda today for a two day visit.

During the first day of his visit, the Union Minister visited the Jai Valley where he interacted with representatives of various groups and listened to their issues.

The Union Minister administered Swatchta Pledge to the gathering, lead the cleanliness drive at the venue and also planted saplings of Chinar and Deodar in the Jai Valley under the ongoing ‘Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav'.

On way from Jai Valley to Bhaderwah, he also laid the foundation stone of Nagar Van forest enclosure at Sungli Bhaderwah.

Union Minister for Steel Ramchandra Prasad Singh visited Akhnoor area of Jammu district today.

During the visit, the Minister inaugurated three recently completed projects amounting to Rs 581.88 lakhs which include Water Supply Scheme at Sungal Palyari, Block Akhnoor; Additional Block at Government Degree College Akhnoor and Panchayat Ghar at Sungal Lower-C Block Akhnoor. The Minister also distributed assistance under various schemes to different beneficiaries which included vehicles under MUMKIN, scooter and wheelchairs to specially-abled persons and tractors among other forms of assistance.
