4 JK Bank employees killed in Kathua accident
Jammu Tawi, Feb 13: Four staffers, including a branch head of Jammu and Kashmir Bank of Pathankote branch, were killed in a road accident on Jammu-Pathankote highway in Barnoti area of Kathua district.
Reports said that the 4 staffers were posted in Pathankote and had come to Jammu on Friday, given the two-day week off.
The four has been identified as Mohan Singh Senior Executive, presently branch head, a resident of Trikuta Nagar Jammu; Ajay Kumar Koul, Executive, a resident of Talab Tilloo; Anil Kumar, Associate executive, a resident of Shastri Nagar Jammu; and Rakesh Charak, Associate Executive, a resident of Samba.
As per reports, the deceased had left Jammu to reach their office in Pathankote in a car early Monday morning. Near Barnoti, the driver lost the control of the vehicle and collided with a road divider. The car then turned turtle to the other side of the road and was hit by a speeding vehicle coming from the opposite direction. The J&K Bank held condolence meetings across the country to mourn the untimely death of their four colleagues.
A major condolence meeting was led by the Chairman & CEO, Parvez Ahmed, at the bank's corporate headquarters. A two-minute silence was observed in honour of the deceased.
Chairman and CEO, Parvez Ahmed later attended the funeral of the deceased. He on behalf of entire J&K bank family expressed his grief and sympathy with the bereaved families and prayed for eternal peace of the departed souls.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti has expressed grief and shock over the death of the four employees of JK Bank.
The CM conveyed her sympathies with the bereaved families and prayed for peace to the departed souls.
Minister for Finance, Dr Haseeb Drabu too expressed shock and grief over the deaths.
The Finance Minister while expressing anguish over the death of the bank employees prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls. He also expressed solidarity with the bereaved families and the management of the Bank over the tragic loss.
